Bon Soir!

India night was fabulous! We were filled to capacity and Susan and Sam's dancing was beautiful. Thanks to all who came!

This week we've got Movie night on Tuesday. A Latvian filmmaker will be showing her movie, "Siberian Diaries ... We Must Tell The Story."

Here's a brief introduction to it by local Latvian activist, Jon Baltmanis...

>This is an open invitation to view a documentary film from Latvia by
> Dzintra Geka. The film is "Siberian diaries.... we must tell the
> story." It is a collection of outtakes from interviews she has
> conducted in documenting the deportations to Siberia on June 14th,
> 1941 of 15,000 Latvian citizens, 4000 of which were children under the
> age of 18. The interviews are of the 300 or so children survivors of
> the mass deportation from Latvia on that date.
>
> The showings will be March 9 at 7PM at the Chez Marche Restaurant 108
> S. Main Waupaca, and March 11 at 7PM in Rm. 1651 Humanities Bldg. at
> UW-Madison. Ms. Geka will present a short talk about her work and the
> film will follow. There will also be a Q&A following.
>
> The film is English subtitled and Ms. Geka is fluent in English,
> Latvian, and Russian.

We hope you can come and see this very important movie.
The Chez will close at 2:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday, but will reopen at 5:30 to serve a bit of dinner to those who want to come early and wait for the showing.

Thursday brings our second Irish Jam Session, with Flip of the Coin. For those of you who missed this event last month, you won't want to miss it again. It was a very pleasant evening. Bring your instrument, or just your ears and smiles, and join us. Flip of the Coin, for those who don't know, is otherwise known as Raiders of the Lost Barn -- local old-timey faves. See you then!

Here's this week's menu. We're enjoying delicious fresh fish from EcoFish, a company that specializes in sustainably harvested fish and seafood. Wednesday we're serving a Thai curry with Mussels, and Friday we'll be making New Orleans style Poor Boy sandwiches piled high with fried Oysters. Oh yeah, baby!
